Background:
Vincent Munoz is a senior Electrical Engineering student at The University of Texas at San Antonio. His academic and project experience has been shaped by a strong interest in embedded systems, robotics, drones, power systems, and hands-on hardware development. Through coursework and engineering projects, Vincent has gained experience working with microcontrollers, sensors, circuit design, Verilog, PCB design, and system integration. He is especially interested in using engineering to solve real-world problems in areas such as agriculture, environmental monitoring, autonomous systems, and national security technology. Internship Goals: Vincent used his internship as an opportunity to gain hands-on research experience in agricultural technology and field sensor systems. During the REEU AgTech program at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, he worked on integrating and preparing sensors for environmental and soil monitoring. His work included assembling sensor hardware, testing Arduino-based systems, working with soil moisture and temperature probes, integrating light and wind sensors, developing wiring solutions, and helping prepare equipment for field deployment. The internship challenged him to apply classroom knowledge to real-world engineering problems while learning more about embedded systems, power planning, and sensor reliability in outdoor environments.
Career Aspirations:
Vincent’s long-term goal is to pursue a career where he can apply electrical engineering to advanced technology systems, especially in areas involving embedded systems, drones, robotics, power electronics, and defense-related innovation. He is interested in contributing to projects that combine hardware, software, and real-world problem solving. After graduation, Vincent hopes to continue building experience in engineering roles that allow him to design, test, and improve systems used in autonomous platforms, field monitoring, and mission-focused technologies. Interests/Hobbies: Outside of his academic and professional work, Vincent enjoys working on hands-on electronics projects, drone systems, 3D design, and robotics-related builds. He is motivated by projects that allow him to learn through building, troubleshooting, and improving real hardware systems. His interests reflect his practical approach to engineering and his desire to keep developing skills that connect classroom concepts to real-world applications.
