Background:
Nala Solomon is currently a senior at Texas A&M College Station and is pursuing a bachelor's in bioenvironmental sciences with a minor in ecology and conservation biology. Her academic interests mainly focus on environmental sustainability, natural resource management, environmental monitoring, and the application of technology to solve environmental challenges. Through coursework in environmental science, ecology, and soil science, she has developed a strong foundation in understanding environmental systems and their interactions with human activities.
Internship goals:
Nala has developed a deeper understanding of how emerging technologies can be applied to improve agricultural sustainability and resource management. She was particularly interested in how drone-based remote sensing, GIS platforms, and environmental data analytics could be integrated to support informed decision-making. By collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and working alongside researchers and extension professionals, she was able to strengthen both her technical skills and her ability to communicate scientific information to diverse audiences.
Career aspirations:
Her long-time goal is to build a career in environmental compliance and environmental health and safety (EHS), sustainability, or environmental consulting. She is heavily interested in working in the intersection of environmental science, technology, and industry to help organizations meet regulatory requirements while improving environmental performance.
Interests:
Outside of academics and research, Nala enjoys cooking, watching YouTube, and hanging out with family and friends. She also loves to crochet, play chess, and play video games whenever time allows.
