Abraham Laurel

Background: Abraham Laurel, a former resident of Laredo, is currently attending Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi studying in Atmospheric Science. Pursuing his ambitions of forecasting prediction alongside storm chasing, his goals are to potentially find new breakthroughs on how weather data analysis can be studied. 

Internship goals: With how closely intertwined agriculture interacts with atmospheric science, the ability to build a foundation level understanding on the impacts weather patterns affect those working on crop fields leads to an underlying curiosity to interact directly within the aftermath. His ambitions to see first-hand accounts allows him to create a stronger sense of admiration for his major while also testing his abilities for research to potentially relay new studies to those providing invaluable food and goods to the economy.

Career Inspirations: Abraham’s inspiration surrounding the seemingly chaotic, yet somehow predictable events from mother nature relates closely to his own personal way of thinking, creating an unshakable bond towards the infinite possibilities atmospheric science offers. He envisions a recluse environment where he can work on his studies without distraction while engaging fully in the good and bad weather can bring.

Interests: Abraham’s interests outside his academic studies revolve strongly behind creative outlets such as music sampling, reference drawings, and light reading. While weather will always be the forefront of his passion, he realizes the important on not letting the thing he loves become solely a means of work.
