Background: Jenna Moyers, from Victoria Texas, is a senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies at Texas A&M University in College Station. Her academic journey has been shaped by a strong interest in GIS technologies and in exploring the connections between the environment and present day society.
Internship Goals: Through this internship, she hopes to gain valuable hands-on experience in agriculture, which is an area not heavily emphasized in her academic program. She is also excited to further explore GIS technologies as well as expand her knowledge of digital tools like IoTs, UAS and data analytics. These tools are of growing interest to her as she seeks to better understand their role in solving various environmental concerns. Additionally, she looks forward to building professional connections and contributing meaningfully to various projects.
Career Aspirations: Passionate about creating meaningful change, she aims to combine her background in environmental science with GIS technologies in order to develop solutions to various environmental issues. She is particularly interested in pursuing challenges that impact ecosystems, agriculture and communities such as pollution, biodiversity loss and food and water insecurity.
Interests: Outside of academics, she finds joy in a variety of artistic hobbies like drawing and origami. She enjoys traveling as well as seeking out opportunities to explore new places, experience diverse cultures and connect with different ecosystems. She also participates in various forms of volunteer work, such as setting up community events, supporting areas in need or engaging in environmental clean-up efforts. She also places great value on her relationships and enjoys spending meaningful time with friends and family.
