5 weeks into the research program, teams have fully formed and worked to form a project idea to complete within the next 3 weeks
Week 5 group updates:
Group 1:
The goal of this project is to develop a dashboard that provides farmers with real-time information about cotton field conditions using data collected from in-ground soil sensors and drone-based sensors. Our dashboard will monitor key variables such as soil temperature and soil moisture (VWC) and compare them to established optimal ranges for cotton growth.
Group 2:
In process of developing a drought-severity classification model using ML to predict drought levels in Texan farmland to allow farmers with a broad range of different specialties to take preventative measures for drought management. Will use Drought.gov, Texas Mesonet, NOAA, Google Earth databases, and a soil probe as source material for the model.
Group 3:
Dashboard enters testing phase, each group member would go over individual aspects within the application, running the NDVI simulation until results were desirable. Ensure that the test results made logical sense based off the previous weather data.
