Andrew F. Johnson joined the Island University in 2015. He earned his PhD from The University of Texas at San Antonio and is currently an Associate Professor of Management. Since 2022, Dr. Johnson has served as Associate Dean-Student Success overseeing undergraduate programs for the College of Business and as part of the College's leadership team. He teaches courses in Principles of Management, Multinational Management, and Strategic Management.
Dr. Johnson is widely published having authored over 35 peer reviewed journal articles. His primary areas of research are on the impact of social change and politics on organizations. He has written articles on social media in the employment process, the role of politics within an organization, and corporate political activity. His articles have been published in The Journal of Social Media in Society, Employee Responsibilities and Rights Journal, Journal of Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management Review, and Business & Society. Prior to his academic appointment he worked in state and local government. The Island University is his first book.
