Bringing health research

Established in 2013, the Tamil Health Association (THA) is a not-for-profit research organization dedicated to supporting the Tamil-speaking population in the Greater Toronto Area. Our mission is to build health research capacity in the Tamil community by leading and supporting health research projects.

We achieve our mission by:

Researchers

Umayanga

Umayangga is a Principal Investigator for the “Exploring the Mental Health of Women in the Canadian Tamil Diaspora” study and a recent graduate of the Master’s in Public Health program at the University of Toronto. She is interested in the impact of race, ethnicity and culture on health and how health promotion can lead to long-lasting, sustainable improvements in health and well-being.

Vinusha

Vinusha is a Principal Investigator for the "Exploring the Mental Health of Women in the Canadian Tamil Diaspora" study. She is interested in mental health promotion within the Tamil community.
