My responsibility is to develop AI-driven, scalable, and explainable misinformation detection models to automate fact-checking and enhance public trust. I supervised 8 PhD students (2 principal supervision, 2 completed). The results were published in TKDE (A*), CSUR (A*), ICDE (A*), etc.

2020-2021: Work Package Leader, “International Leibniz Future Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence”, ERC , 1.6M EUR.

My responsibility is to manage a team with collaborations of 8 professors from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, India and California, 5 professors from the L3S at Leibniz University and Hannover Medical School and 12 doctoral students on new topics of artificial intelligence (explainable AI, graph representation learning, multi-modal learning) to develop intelligent solutions for personalised medicine.

2018-2019: Work Package Leader, “ScienceWise: Crowdsourced conceptualization of scientific discoveries”, Swiss-NSF , 2M CHF.

My responsibility is to provide scientists with effective and integrated search tools as well as editing and semantic-aware data processing frameworks to assist the scientific discovery and documentation processes. My work focuses on building a taxonomy for the field of computer science. My results were used as a plugin for Arxiv, the largest open-access repository of scientific preprints and postprints for Computer Science.

2016-2017: Work Package Leader, “RecONCILE: Robust Online Credibility Evaluation of Web Content ”, Polish-Swiss Research Program, 564K EUR.

My responsibility is to develop a Web Credibility corpus – a collection of Web pages combined with multiple human credibility evaluations that will serve as a benchmark for evaluation or proposed algorithms. My results were used in the Web product of the final project deliverables.

2016: Research Assistant, "In-memory Moving Objects Analytics for Real-time Business Applications", ARC Linkage, $660K.

My responsibility is to a data integration platform for traffic monitoring that could receive, combine, and analyse massive volumes of heterogeneous streaming data in real-time.

2014-2015: Work Package Leader, “EINS: Network of Excellence in Internet Science”, EU-FP7 , 4M EUR.

My responsibility is to coordinate the investigation, from a multi-disciplinary perspective, of specific important Internet- related topics at the intersection between humanistic sciences, technological sciences and environmental concerns.

My responsibility is to develop a trust management model to enable a probabilistic database of participatory sensing data. My models were used in subsequent projects of my laboratory such as OpenSense, Swiss Experiment, Global Sensor Networks, and MemorySense.
