Hiking and traveling

Walking through half of Europe

In 2017, I walked from Budapest to Amsterdam in 53 days. One day later I took a bus to the UK and walked from London to Cambridge. In total, it was a 1627-kilometer-long trip in 56 days, which led through Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, and England. This was a low-budget trip: I did not spend a cent on accommodation, and the only transportation cost was the bus from Amsterdam to London and the train+plane combo back to Hungary.

Hitchhiking around Europe

In 2018, I hitchhiked around Europe with my girlfriend for 16 days. The route was something like Budapest-Vienna-Innsbruck-Stuttgart-Bonn-Hannover-Flensburg-Copenhagen-Malmö-Gothenburg-Stockholm-Riga-Vilnius-Warsaw-Wrocław-Prague-Brno-Budapest. About 70% of it was hitchhiking.

Peaks of the Balkans

In 2023, I completed the trek called Peaks of the Balkans, which is a 200-kilometer-long hike that explores the rugged landscapes around the tri-border area of Montenegro, Albania, and Kosovo.

Despite the fact that I really enjoy them, I rarely have the opportunity to do such long hikes/trips -- typically at most once a year.
