T. A. Loving Company has finished driving the shoring system and have dug almost 15’ deep inside the cofferdam. A cofferdam is made by driving sheeting in the ground, in this situation the cofferdam is round. Once all the sheeting is in place, we begin excavating the dirt inside the cofferdam and installing whalers. During the next two weeks we will be putting the finishing welds on the braces for the second whaler and excavating the hole to the proper depth for the third whaler. Whalers are used to help support the sheeting as we excavate further into the ground. The first two whalers are made of steel and the third whaler will be made of concrete. We will also be completing the installation of the temporary power with Melton Electric and Duke Energy.

Please maintain awareness around the site entrance as dump trucks will continue to drive in and out of the site.
