It was in 2007, that we jump for the first time to implement Tally in our organization.
Before that we were using the manual ledgers, paper invoice and ππππππ book keeping materials.
It was not an easy transition.
Nobody in our organization knew Tally before. But we had a great desire to implement it in our system.
You know if you want to scale up our business, you canβt keep doing the manual accounting.
Moreover, you canβt say the manually recorded transaction as true accounting because you canβt get the reports like profit and loss or balance sheet properly.
Yet, some of our members were also skeptical with the idea of fully recording all transactions through Tally Software. It was hard to imagine that we could done away with the paper invoice book, cash book etc.
We experimented by recording the transaction both manually and with Tally. It was time consuming. Yet we committed on using Tally for all transaction.
We trained ourselves to record as much transaction as we could. Slowly and steadily most of our staff also learned how to handle Tally.
Over the course of a few years, we were able to progress from a purely manual transactional toward a somewhat paperless office.
It may be impossible to be fully paperless but we estimated that by 2013 we were already more than 90% paperless.
The good thing is that almost 90% of our employees used the new accountancy system daily.
Our multi-user (the Gold version) made the database centralized. And so many of our office staff could access the same database from any computer on the network in our office.
It meant a lot of saving in time and energy. Anybody can make an invoice from any computer and printed it out instantly.
The customer didnβt wait for one person to talk, another person to bill, another person to deliver. He could simply do his business with any of the staff available in our office.
For the reports, we could know instantly who owed us or whom we owed money at the click of a few buttons. We could collect receipt & made payment in time.
We could make our business better.
