We first met Umesh in 2018 when we visited India for a friend's wedding. He had a warm, kind spirit and we spent 2 days touring Jaipur with him. We learned so much from our visit and felt like we really soaked up the culture from him.

He is an excellent storyteller, and is very knowledgable and hardworking. He has wished us (and our mother who he never even met!) happy birthday every year since.

We've been thinking about how to help him since we knew there were no tourists in sight due to COVID. We wanted friends to experience being transported to another world and feel the amazing calm amidst the chaos that we got to experience there.

Sara and Andrew were living in San Francisco and are now in New York City for the summer. Sara is a former Software Engineer at Facebook, Houseparty, and Stripe. She loves art and museums and enjoyed the vibrant colors and activity of India.

Andrew is a former cofounder and CTO of Leanplum and worked at Google. He loves dosa and chai and enjoyed the feeling of community and the rich history of India.
