Title
Let’s Talk Tech to Reach ALL Learners!
Description
From apps to extensions to web tools - there are so many tools available today to support the diverse learners in our classrooms. Where do we start? How do we find the most appropriate tools to support students?
iPads, Chromebooks, Laptops, Android tablets - bring ‘em all! Through various hands on opportunities, learn with (and from) your colleagues while we all build a deeper level of understanding of the features of the tools available today. Instead of just buying more apps - let’s make sure to maximize the effectiveness of tools through a feature match process.
Learn how to leverage the power of built in accessibility features across all platforms to provide just-in-time solutions for students. Explore literacy supports for struggling students in the areas of reading, writing and math. Tackle those difficult executive function disconnects that see our students struggling in the areas of time management, organization, task completion and focus.
We will look at tools across platforms: Chrome, iOS, Android and Web Tools. Throughout the day, we will employ the UDL Principles to ensure that our tools provide multiple means of engagement, representation, and action & expression. Be ready to participate - there will be opportunities throughout for participants to share experiences with tools. A custom Google Site will be shared with participants that will provide resources and opportunities for continues collegial sharing even after the session ends.
