Welcome to Talking Helps Psychotherapy
Hello and welcome!
I’m LaToya R. Walker, MSW, LCSW, a licensed psychotherapist/counselor and owner of Talking Helps Psychotherapy LLC. I provide solution-focused, trauma-informed care for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, and PTSD. I offer therapy/counseling services for children, adolescents, and adults in New Jersey and Florida. I provide LGBTQIA-affirming care and offer Emotional Support Animal (ESA) evaluations and letters when clinically appropriate.
My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental, and supportive therapeutic environment where you feel comfortable being yourself as we explore what brought you to therapy. I value transparency and authenticity in the therapeutic relationship and strive to show up in a genuine and grounded way.
My mission is to help you gain clarity, strengthen resilience, and move toward meaningful, lasting growth through therapy. Each session is tailored to your individual needs and treatment goals. I approach the therapeutic process with the understanding that individuals seek support for a reason, and I am committed to ensuring those needs are clearly identified and effectively addressed in our work together.
"I am a true believer that talking helps".
Breonna Wright, RCSWI
Florida Therapist
Ages 4+, Individuals, couples
As a therapist, my passion is helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with compassion, clarity, and confidence. I believe therapy should be a safe space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes. My approach blends empathy with practical strategies, focusing on building self-awareness, emotional resilience, and healthier relationships. I work from a strengths-based perspective, meeting you where you are and walking alongside you as you uncover your own capacity for growth and healing. Whether you’re facing stress, anxiety, relationship struggles, or life transitions, my goal is to help.
I help individuals and families navigate life’s challenges by creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where they can explore their thoughts, emotions, and goals. My specialty is working with teens, young adults, and parents to build stronger communication, emotional resilience, and self-confidence.
