Hi, I'm Talia!

I love to draw, paint, and create. I especially love nature scenes, figure drawing, and charcoal portraiture.

I've had a passion for art from a very young age and am constantly creating.  Growing up, I explored my creativity using just about any medium I could get my hands on, from plastic grocery bags to colored pencils and eventually to oil paints. I've dabbled in both architectural and fashion design, but these days I mainly continue to explore my favorite medium: charcoal.

The majority of my work is self-initiated and the subjects vary. One of my favorite subjects is the natural landscape. As an avid hiker, I always bring my sketchbook and paints on my adventures in case inspiration strikes atop a mountain or in the details of a small plant. Even just walking to classes, when I see something worth capturing, I'll take a range of photographs to later reference in an artistic rendering.

Other subjects I quite enjoy include figure drawing and portraiture, which capture the dynamic, curious nature of the human body. I think there's something special about what an artist chooses to render and how. When drawing people, there's so much emotion to capture, and I try to convey it through my stylistic choices.

I also do commissioned work. My past commissions have included individual and family portraits, logo design, poster design, postcards, and figure drawings, though I am open to a wide range of projects.  Feel free to contact me for more information!
