Classes

Flemish String Making I do not have a handout for this class. It is hands on and I can teach it upon request.

Experiments and Projects

These are not formally classes themselves, but are projects and former blog posts that should provide enough information, particularly with consultation with provided references, that you could replicate the result.

SCA Starter Bow Recommedations Guidance on shopping for your first bow

Shopping List for Arrow Building Guidance on shopping for arrow building supplies (includes links to external arrow building how-tos). I use this as pre-reading if I teach arrow building as a hands on class.

Pentathalon Entry: Mary Rose English Arrow Bag / Quiver

Regrettably the Mary Rose Museum has taken most of their free online content down, presumably so you have to buy their museum catalogue publication, but there should still be a fair amount of good info here.

Pentathalon Entry: Red Oak Board Bow, ELB style

Note that the best how-to for making a board bow is in the Poorfolkbows archived website in the references section. My write up is in the main useful for tailoring a board bow for SCA authenticity.

Mini Tillering Tree Class:

Did you know if you pour concrete in a bucket, stick a post in, screw or nail on a platform with retaining board, and nail some nails in you can make a sturdy semi portable tillering tree? Thank you for attending this class

Mini Tillering Tree Class 2:

Did you know if you are living somewhere with a wooden fence you can do the same thing to a fencepost? Bonus: you can screw in a pulley to the bottom of the post so you can pull a string instead of using nail? Check with your landlord first. Thank you for attending this class
