Established on 09th January 2021 in the heart of Colombo, HS Youth & Sports Club was founded with the vision of empowering youth, building community unity, and creating a safe and healthy environment through sports and social service. Founded by dedicated individuals including S.G.V. Wasagan and K. Sham, the club was created to guide the younger generation away from negative influences such as drug abuse while discovering and nurturing hidden talents within the community.

With the inspiring motto, “Where Talent Meets Destiny,” the club has grown into a respected youth organization in the Maradana area by promoting discipline, teamwork, leadership, and equal opportunities for all individuals regardless of their background. The club actively engages in a wide range of sporting activities including Kabaddi, Cricket, Volleyball, Netball, Elle, Football, and Track & Field events, providing a platform for young athletes to develop their skills and confidence.

Over the years, HS Youth & Sports Club has successfully organized major community-centered events such as annual Netball and Volleyball tournaments and the well-recognized HS Awurudu Festival, which strengthens friendship and cultural unity among members and the public. In addition to sports, the club remains deeply committed to social responsibility by conducting Children’s Day programs, Poya Day Dansalas, Flood Relief Assistance initiatives, and Medical Camps to support the local community.

The club has also achieved notable sporting success, including securing 4th Place at the National Netball Meet and becoming champions at the Colombo Divisional Youth Club Sports Meets. Demonstrating its commitment to developing future talent, several young athletes from the club have already qualified for national-level competitions. Furthermore, many members have proudly joined the Sri Lankan Defense Forces, reflecting the club’s mission of building disciplined and responsible citizens for the nation.

Today, HS Youth & Sports Club continues its journey with the goal of strengthening unity among members, creating opportunities for youth development, and contributing toward a better and more positive society for future generations.
