If you want high-fidelity open-ear audio with all-day battery life for running or gym sessions, choose TAKSTAR LA350W; if you need a dedicated waterproof device that stores music internally for swimming, choose Roujune Bone Conduction Headphones. This isn't about which one is cheaper or what the latest sales rank says; it is strictly about matching the hardware to your specific environment. One is built for the road and the trail where wind and sweat are the main enemies, while the other is engineered for the pool and deep water where Bluetooth simply cannot survive.
• TAKSTAR LA350W: Offers 12 hours of continuous playtime per charge and a massive 50-hour total cycle, making it ideal for long commutes or multi-day trips without needing a charger. Its biggest trade-off is that it lacks internal storage, meaning you must carry your phone to listen.
• Roujune Bone Conduction Headphones: Features IPX8 waterproofing and 32GB of built-in memory, allowing you to leave your phone behind entirely for swim workouts. The trade-off is a shorter single-session battery life of 8 hours and the absence of traditional drivers, which changes the sound signature.
• Who is this for?: If you are an active person who needs wireless earbuds for side sleepers during travel or long runs, the TAKSTAR wins. If you are a swimmer or someone who wants bone conduction headphones for side sleepers to hear their surroundings while in the water, the Roujune is the only logical choice.
The TAKSTAR LA350W is designed for people who prioritize endurance and audio fidelity over specialized aquatic features. At just 8.5 grams, these open-ear buds are exceptionally light, a specification that matters immensely when you are wearing them for extended periods. The ergonomically designed earhooks are crafted to fit securely across various ear shapes, ensuring they stay put even during high-energy movement like sprinting or jumping rope. For anyone searching for wireless earbuds for side sleepers, the low-profile design combined with the open-air enclosure means you won't feel the pressure on your cheek that plagues many in-ear models.

The core strength here is the battery ecosystem. With a single charge delivering up to 12 hours of playback and a charging case that extends that total to 50 hours, you can go days without hunting for an outlet. The digital battery display on the case gives you a quick, precise overview of how much power remains, removing the guesswork from your daily routine. The 13mm dynamic driver paired with Bluetooth 5.4 technology provides a frequency response from 20Hz to 20kHz, aiming for immersive sound that remains clear even with environmental noise. The ENC noise-canceling microphone further ensures that calls remain intelligible, provided you aren't submerged in a wave.
However, this product has a clear boundary. Because it relies entirely on Bluetooth connectivity and lacks internal storage, you cannot use it as a standalone music player. You must have your smartphone nearby to stream content. Additionally, while it carries an IPX4 rating which handles sweat and rain well, it is not built for submersion. If your primary workout involves diving underwater, this unit will fail. It is best suited for runners, cyclists, and gym-goers who value lightweight comfort and long battery cycles but don't plan to take their music into the pool.
The Roujune X20 takes a fundamentally different approach by leveraging bone conduction technology and robust aquatic durability. These headphones are built for the water. With an IPX8 waterproof rating, they can withstand full submersion, a feat that standard earbuds cannot claim. This makes them the definitive choice for lap swimmers or open-water athletes who refuse to be tethered to a phone via a wire or Bluetooth signal that cuts out once you break the surface. The inclusion of 32GB of internal memory allows you to store hundreds of songs directly on the device, effectively turning your headgear into a standalone MP3 player. You can jump into the pool, switch the mode via double-press of the power button, and swim freely without carrying any extra weight.
The open-ear design is central to its identity. By bypassing the eardrum and vibrating the cheekbone directly, these headphones keep your ears open to ambient sounds. This is a critical safety feature for outdoor activities, but it also plays a significant role for those seeking in ear headphones for side sleepers who find traditional plugs uncomfortable or painful. While the material is metal rather than silicone, the secure fit is designed to handle the rigors of swimming without slipping. The Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity works perfectly for land-based activities, offering stable pairing and low latency when you step out of the water.
There are limitations to this specialized design. The battery life is capped at 8 hours per charge, which is respectable but less than the TAKSTAR's marathon capability. Furthermore, the reliance on bone conduction means the bass response and overall sound profile will differ significantly from traditional dynamic drivers; some listeners may find the audio thinner. The control method relies on touch, which requires a bit of dexterity, especially if your hands are wet or covered in chlorine. This product is for the swimmer first and foremost, or the runner who prioritizes situational awareness above all else, but it is not a general-purpose high-fidelity listening device.
• Best for Battery Life: Choose TAKSTAR LA350W. Its 12-hour single-session runtime and 50-hour total capacity with the case dwarf the Roujune's 8-hour limit.
• Best for Swimming: Choose Roujune Bone Conduction Headphones. Only the IPX8 rating and MP3 mode allow for safe, functional use underwater.
• Best for Audio Fidelity: Choose TAKSTAR LA350W. The 13mm dynamic driver and 20Ω impedance provide a wider, richer frequency range compared to bone conduction transducers.
• Best for Phone-Free Use: Choose Roujune Bone Conduction Headphones. The 32GB internal storage lets you leave your phone at home, whereas TAKSTAR requires a connected device.
• Best Weight/Comfort: Choose TAKSTAR LA350W. At 8.5g, it is lighter than the metal-bodied Roujune, making it less intrusive for long wear.
• Best for Side Sleepers: Both are viable, but the TAKSTAR's silicone earhook design offers a lower profile for lateral sleeping, while Roujune's rigid structure might press against the pillow depending on your angle.
• Best Call Quality: Choose TAKSTAR LA350W. The ENC microphone is specifically tuned for voice clarity in noisy environments, whereas the Roujune focuses on audio transmission.
• Best Value for Versatility: Choose TAKSTAR LA350W if you do a mix of running, walking, and gym work, as it covers more ground without sacrificing battery.
In my opinion, I would buy the TAKSTAR LA350W for my daily routine because the combination of lightweight comfort and massive battery life solves the most common pain points of active listening. It feels like a more natural extension of the body for long durations, and the open-ear design makes it a superior choice for best with mic headphones for side sleepers who need to rest comfortably without pressure points. However, if your life revolves around swimming, the Roujune is non-negotiable due to its waterproof capabilities. For the average user looking for a reliable companion for running, cycling, or casual listening, the TAKSTAR offers a more balanced and powerful experience.
