Taking a Deep Dive Youth Group (TADD) is founded on the basis of the divide and tension between Asian communities. We hope to empower young Asians by allowing them to express both the uniqueness and similarities of their own Asian culture along with others. Different Asian communities and cultures are often clumped together when spoken about in the media and by administrations, despite each Asian community and culture being incredibly unique and multifaceted in it of themselves. This clumping together of Asian cultures is what causes this divide, as each Asian culture and community takes it upon themselves to separate from those they are clumped with. Taking a Deep Dive hopes to take this into account when hosting conversations amongst Asian communities. Giving everyone space to express the uniqueness of their own culture, so that we may have constructive conversations about how to empower each other. Because at the end of the day as Asians we do share many similarities however in order to embrace them we must first allow the uniqueness to be expressed.  TADD will use social media as a way to connect to young Asians, host conversations, and to educate Asians and non-Asians alike about the unique intricacies of Asian cultures in the hope of working towards breaking down the divide.
