How to Take Care of Your Tooth Brush?

Brushing our teeth is a battle we fight every morning. Each day, we take over the battlefield to kill all the bacterial enemies that may have gotten into our mouths from the previous night. To win any fight, being well-equipped with the best quality resources is crucial. Likewise, it is important to be prepared for our early morning battles as well. Imagine going for a battle with damaged armor. Would it be possible to win? Not really. It is, therefore, of utmost importance to take good care of your toothbrush to ensure victory and retain a beautiful smile forever. Here are some tips to follow for maintaining this trusty tool –

1.  Selection matters: The most crucial aspect of oral hygiene is having the right toothbrush. Select a toothbrush with soft bristles to avoid gum bleeds and enamel damage. Opt for a gentle yet effective toothbrush that can reach difficult places. Manual or electric toothbrushes can be a personal preference.

2. Keep it clean: Do not use the toothbrush directly. Wash the toothbrush properly before use and rinse thoroughly under running water after each use. This minor step helps prevent bacterial formation on the toothbrush and keeps it fresh for the next day.

3. Cover your brush: Store your toothbrush separately from other toothbrushes to prevent cross-contamination. Allow it to dry, and then keep it in a clean case to shield the bristles from the external environment. Make sure it dries completely, or else mold and bacteria may grow on the brush.

4. Change Regularly: While taking care of your toothbrush is important, it is equally important to change it every 3-4 months as well. Do not get attached to one toothbrush. It will not last forever. A new toothbrush with solid bristles ensures effective cleaning of your teeth and gums.

5. Brush gently: Do not start a fight in your mouth! Brushing too vigorously won't make your teeth shinier. It will rather destroy the enamel, your gums, and the toothbrush. Use a gentle circular motion to massage your teeth with the brush. Let the bristles do their job.

Being considerate of your toothbrush and taking conscious steps to safeguard its quality will eventually enhance your oral hygiene and prevent from dental emergency visits. You will notice a significant improvement in your teeth and gum health. By incorporating these basic steps in your dental routine, you can ensure that your toothbrush remains faithful to you in delivering a promised win in every battle.
