The objectives of the TTA are articulated in the constitution.
4.1 Promote, foster, develop, and encourage an understanding of Tainuitanga, with particular respect to Kīngitanga, Te Reo me ōna Tikanga.
4.2 Provide teacher support through the:
4.2.1 Sharing of teaching and learning resources;
4.2.2 Organisation of professional development opportunities;
4.2.3 Provision of funding information;
4.2.4 Networking between Tainui Kura and other institutions and organisations.
4.3 Facilitate specific kaupapa, including but not exclusive to:
4.3.1 Ngā Manu Korero: Regional and National events;
4.3.2 Kapa Haka Kura Tuarua: Regional and National events
4.3.3 Kī-O-Rahi: Regional and National events
4.3.4 Māori teachers Professional Development
4.4 Advocate regionally and nationally for Māori Education in all its forms.
