Kyodo Taiko is a traditional Japanese drumming group from UCLA. Founded in 1990, Kyodo is the oldest collegiate taiko group in North America and has two English translations, "family" and "loud children." The group's close-knit members function as a family, sharing the joy and spirit of taiko with more and more of the surrounding community each year.

Bakuhatsu Taiko Dan was founded by John Shinozaki and Stacey Clark in 2001. The word "Bakuhatsu" translates as "explosion," expressing the high energy of our performers on stage. Bakuhatsu Taiko Dan's mission is to promote awareness and appreciation of Japanese Culture throughout our community and its surrounding areas.

Calarts Hinotani Daiko is the newly created taiko group at the California Institute of the Arts. The group was created in 2017 by Richard An and Wells Leng, who are alums of USC Kazan Taiko. Hinotani Daiko strives to incoporate many styles of taiko and to teach its members and audiences the joys and traditions of kumidaiko.

Founded in 2010, Ahiru Daiko is the University of Oregon's taiko drumming ensemble. Ahiru Daiko is committed to practicing the art form of taiko and sharing taiko music with the UO and Eugene community through performance and collaboration. Stanford Taiko is Stanford University's resident taiko ensemble. With over 25 years of history, we aim to spread the art of Japanese ensemble drumming to the local community through performances of our all-original repertoire.

Senryu Taiko is one of the earliest collegiate taiko groups to ever form in the United States. Self-taught and self-sustained, the club continues the tradition of kumidaiko by writing music together, teaching incoming members, and forming ties with other collegiate taiko groups across the nation.
