Dr. Taher Ghomian is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer (ECE) Engineering and a member of the Frontier Institute for Research in Sensor Technologies (FIRST) at the University of Maine. His research focuses on studying and tailoring the properties of nanoscale materials; the interaction of nanomaterials with surroundings; and uses this knowledge to fabricate high-performance sensors and energy harvesters. Prior to joining the University of Maine, he worked as an Assistant Professor at Marshall University, and a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of California Davis, developing devices for nanomaterial manipulation and studying the energy conversion properties of nanomaterials. Dr. Ghomian received his Ph.D. in 2018 from Louisiana State University. He pioneered the development of a solution-processed photovoltaic device harvesting human body thermal radiation. He is a Senior Member of IEEE.
