Tagpi-Tagpi has upcycled over 4,000 pairs of jeans from donation drives and secondhand shops alone. The fillings of their toys are made of shredded plastic and denim, promoting sustainable consumption and production.
Tagpi-Tagpi’s plush toys showcase the beauty of marine biodiversity Some of the wildlife featured include the sea turtle, orca whale, manta ray, sea star, octopus, and seal. These products help raise awareness about the damaging effects of the garment industry on the marine ecosystem, encouraging consumers to be more intentional with their purchases.
Tagpi-Tagpi featured in ‘Brigada’ an award-winning investigative documentary program hosted by multi-awarded broadcast journalist Kara David.

The ShexEarth Project aims to strengthen intergenerational collaboration between women to create a multi-faceted plan in promoting gender equality and climate action in their respective communities through 𝐚 𝟒-𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦. The ShexEarth Project focuses on the major pillars of: lifestyle, health, fashion, and human rights.
The SheEarth Warriors engaged with the crafters of Tagpi-Tagpi in Dauin City. Here they learned the importance of upcycling from the womens firsthand. They also got to make marine animal-themed stuffed toys out of recycled fabric. Bonus is they got to take their stuffed toys home!
The Bootcamp is targeted towards startups in their ideation stage from the Asia-Pacific region primarily solving Blue ocean problems.
From the 22nd-24th October, the program is hosted by startups, investors, entrepreneurs from all across the seas of Asia Pacific. Our speakers will share their expertise in scaling businesses and the implementation of AI & Data into sustainability solutions.
Following the success of Tagpi-Tagpi, a former finalist of Bluepreneur MJ shared her expertise and experience as one of the mentors.
Project Tagpi x O’Ripple intends to build an avenue to harness the potential of ocean waste resources and provide livelihood opportunities for women in coastal areas at the same time. The product of our efforts will be intended for kids with special needs.
The project will begin with a series of ocean cleanups by our ocean sweepers from Cebu and Boracay. Our volunteers will then sort and disinfect debris that is suitable for upcycling before sending it to our friends from Tagpi-Tagpi, who in turn will carry out the plush toy production. The final products will be marketed and catered to institutions that serve children with special needs.
