Tag Recorder Privacy Policy

Tag Recorder ("the app") is developed by Gavtech ("we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the app.

Summary

Tag Recorder does not collect, transmit, or sell any of your data. Your recordings, tags, and diagnostic logs stay on your device and in the storage location you choose, unless you personally choose to email logs to us for support. We have no servers, no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers built into the app.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, or any other personal information. We have no backend servers, so nothing you record or type into the app is ever sent to us or to any third party as part of normal use.

Microphone Access

The app requests microphone access solely to record audio that you initiate. Audio is recorded directly to your device and is never streamed or uploaded anywhere.

Your Recordings and Tags

Recordings are saved as `.m4a` audio files in a folder you choose (on Android, via the system's folder picker; on iOS, in the app's Files location; similarly on desktop platforms). The tags you create (short labels with timestamps) are stored inside that same audio file's metadata, alongside the recording — not in a separate database and not on any server we operate.

Because your recordings live in storage you control, you decide how they're backed up, shared, or deleted — the app does not manage or access that data outside of the folder you select and does not delete files without your action.

Diagnostic Logs (Optional)

The app keeps diagnostic logs on your device to help troubleshoot problems. These logs never leave your device automatically. If you choose **Settings > Upload logs** to report a bug, the app opens your device's own email app with the logs attached and addressed to **gavtech@zohomail.com** — you review and send that email yourself, and can cancel it before sending. If you contact us this way, we will have access to the log contents and your email address for the purpose of responding to you.

Links to Third-Party Services

The **Settings > Support this app** option opens a "Buy Me a Coffee" donation page (buymeacoffee.com) in your device's browser. This is a third-party website, not operated by us, and is governed by its own privacy policy. We do not receive any information about whether you visit it or donate.

Data Sharing and Selling

We do not share or sell any data, because we do not collect any in the first place. The only information we ever receive is what you voluntarily send us by email (see "Diagnostic Logs" above).

Children's Privacy

The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and post the revised version at this same location.
