10/08;25: The TAFCA Pre-Season meeting will take place on Tues 16th Sept 25, 7:30pm, venue Daniel Coleman`s Council office, Dundee City Square. This meeting is open to all TAFCA committee members and Club Secretaries/representatives.
10/08/25: Club Secretaries (TAFCA members) should have received an email with the Registration Excel spreadsheet attached, to be filled in and sent back by Monday 15th Sept 25, 6pm. Season 2025-26, starts in October 25.

30/04/23: Rishi Vijayakumar J11 (Castlehill) does it again for the 4th time in a row as he is once again crowned, TAFCA`s most improved junior for season 2022-23! He was pushed all the way by Ramit Kanodia J15 (Castlehill). Mind you, Rishi played 59 games, while Ramit only played 7! There were only 3 players eligible this season, but hopefully we will have more juniors (under 16) for 2023-24 season who are graded under 1600 and play at least two games! Clubs get more juniors involved! Well played Rishi!
25/04/23: Congratulations to Alastair Dawson (Dundee) on becoming the J.R.Chalmers Grand Prix Memorial Champion 22-23! “”HERE“
14/04/23: That leaves only one title to be decided, the J.R.Chalmers Grand Prix Memorial Cup. Alastair Dawson (Dundee) & Ed Spencer (Dundee) are tied on 10 points each, with just the Perth Chess Congress left to collect points! Mind you Rishi Vijayakumer (Castlehill) is 3rd on 17½ points, with David Hall (Perth) on 17 points, so both still in with a shout! Standings “HERE“

14/04/23: While there are still some matches left in round 5 of the TAFCA Online Singles Championship, we have a winner after David Findlay (Dundee) beat Ed Spencer (Dundee) in their final round match. 26/03/23: It`s a battle of the Titans (number 1 seed v number 2 seed) in the last round of the TAFCA Online Singles Championship to decide who will be victorious! TAFCA Online Singles

St Andrews A top div 1, but with Castlehill A & Dundee A still to play each other, it`s looking like one of them will pip St Andrews A to the title! In div 2, Perth A could pip St Andrews B to the title if they beat Kirkcaldy B in their final match!
League Tables – J.R.Chalmers GP17/03/23: All the tables and other info have been updated for week 24 (19/03/23). In div 1, St Andrews Uni A sit top of the table by 1 point but have finished their matches! A three-way tie at the top of div 2, but Perth A have still one game to play! SEASON 2021-22
26/05/22: The TAFCA 2021-22 season has now closed. We will be back up and running in Sept 22 for season 2022-23 which will be played OTB (face to face) unless something happens in-between then!
26/05/22: The TAFCA AGM took place on Tuesday 24th May 2022, 7:45pm in Dundee Chess Club rooms. The minutes of that meeting will be available ASAP. There were 3 years of trophies to be presented. For all the winners for the past 3 years click “HERE“
18/04/22: That is the end of all competitions for seaon 2021-22. All that is left is the AGM and trophy presentations (see above). Thank you to all the chess clubs, players and organisers for making it work once again! AGM to be confirmed!

02/04/22: The TAFCA leagues division one & two have finished. Still to play for are the 6th TAFCA Allegro Championship Series St.Andrews Uni which takes place on Wed 7th April 22, 7:30pm. This will have implications in the J.R.Chalmers Grand Prix Memorial trophy. Standings “HERE“. The last event of the TAFCA season is the “TEAM BATTLE” end of the show show! This takes place on Tuesday 12th April 22, 7:30pm on Lichess and involves “ALL” TAFCA league teams.
25/03/22: LEAGUES – Week 23: Div 1 Dundee A are champions again! Dundee B & Perth A are relagated. Mind you one of them might avoid relegation depending on league structure next season (and in house club rules!)! Div 2: Kirkcaldy A are champions and promoted to div 1. Dundee C finish runners-up and should be promoted to division one depending on league structure and if Dundee B go down (in house club thing)?

20/03/22: Week 22: Richard Kynoch (Castlehill) moves closer to the title of J.R.Chalmers GP Champion! Dundee A top div 1 as do Kirkcaldy A in div 2 after a fine win against Dundee C!
10/03/22: Week 21: Richard Kynoch still leads in J.R.Chalmers Grand Prix “HERE“. Dundee C miss the opportunity to go top of division Two after Kirkcaldy A won their head to head match. It was looking the other way around until a fatal mistake from a won position on board 4 reduced it to a scrambling perpetual check draw!
