“Action is the foundational key to all success.” – Pablo Picasso
The EPA states that “high levels of contaminants such as lead, mercury, cadmium, and arsenic...can lead to irreversible health effects, including cancers, miscarriages, neurological damage, and diminished IQs.”
So why do the numbers continue to grow?
Global e-waste grew by 21% from 2014 to 2019, and it continues to be the fastest growing municipal waste stream in America, equaling 70% of overall toxic waste.
Our mission as the TAE OCSA Branch is to raise awareness for responsible E-Waste management. We will take steps against this growing issue through small but sure steps: this includes holding battery collections and recycling drives for the 1 Million Battery Campaign and spreading knowledge on how to properly manage e-waste in ways that are safe for both the environment and us.
