Los Coyotes Branch

You can't fix things without trying

Mission of the project

The mission of the Los Coyotes Branch is to help the 1MB program, which means to collect e-waste and batteries to hit the 1 million goal. According to a report titled Household Universal Waste Generation in California, 507,259,000 batteries were sold in California in 2001. According to the report, only 0.55 percent of these batteries were recycled. That's only 2 million batteries recycled out of 500 million! E-waste is becoming a huge part of our lives and it is our responsibility to stop it.

Progress So Far

So far, the official 1MB (1 million batteries) program has collected over 166,000 batteries and is still continuing to grow. With almost 600 volunteers and 442 collection sites, we can continue to donate our efforts to this cause.
