"When the last tree has fallen, and the rivers are poisoned, you cannot eat money" -Aurora
The Leigh Branch of Teens Against E-waste is in San Jose, California. In many communities, the harmful effects of electronic waste are vaguely mentioned, and the solution to this problem is generally unknown. Thankfully, Teens Against E-Waste (TAE) presents local and convenient ways people can participate in reducing pollution! By collecting and recycling batteries, we aim to spread awareness and contribute towards a cleaner planet step by step.
This is a little poster and bucket we put in front of our house for our neighborhood to drop off! We regularly get refills of batteries in the bucket and people also knock to donate batteries.
We have made so many of these bins to be stationed at many different locations, such as senior homes, tech companies, schools, and various neighborhoods! Every once in a while we will go to these different stations and pick up what has been donated. It is so great to see different communities involved and we receive so many batteries every time!
After only a few weeks of creating this deposit station at church, this cardboard box is full of batteries!
A trunkful of pounds and pounds of batteries!
