Our research focuses on: 1) developing MRI methods to quantify cerebrovascular function and structure, and 2) applying these methods to investigate the role of vascular physiology in brain aging and dementia. A key interest lies in understanding how altered vascular physiology contributes to cognitive decline in aging and neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) and vascular cognitive impairment. Additionally, the mechanisms by which systemic cardiovascular factors associated with AD and related dementias (ADRD) influence cerebrovascular alterations are another area of interest.
