Safety Month
Fun and Safety during playtime!!!!!
Morning Gate-Keeping – Before entering the school, each child will be given a health screening to ensure that they are well and fit for school.
Before class starts, the children will be given opportunity to engage in fun activities of their choice. Such activities include reading (at the classroom reading corner), playing with manipulative toys, role playing and social interaction with their friends and peers.
The children will be given regular toilet breaks in the school (i.e. before class starts, in between lessons, before and after break, and before dismissal time). The toilet breaks will be supervised by teachers. Furthermore, the toilets in the school are specially-designed and appropriate for children use.
Each morning, the teachers and children will engage in circle time which involves morning prayer and morning conversation with teachers and classmates. Music and movement is also incorporated in circle time to get the children ready and excited for their day in school.
The kindergarten implements a mixed-method approach in delivering the lessons. The approaches include the instructional method, show and tell, hands-on activities and conducting experiments. The children’s learning is then reinforced using learning materials (i.e. books, worksheets and crafts). The aim of using various different learning approaches is to cater to each child’s unique learning needs and to develop their interest in learning and understanding the world around them.
The children will have their break time in the designated dining area with their peers from different classrooms and levels. This is to allow the children to experience the environment of break time in primary school canteens to ease their transition to primary school.
Children in different levels are dismissed at intervals of 15 minutes. This is to ensure the safety and avoid the overcrowding of children.
The children are given opportunity to participate in computer class weekly in which they will engage in educational digital games. This is to develop the children’s digital literacy and critical thinking skills.
The scripture lessons are conducted to expose the children to Christian values including God’s Word.
The weekly assembly will involve all the teachers and children in the school. During the assembly the children will be involved in prayer, praise and worship, birthday celebration and physical education (aerobics and games).
Variety celebrations are celebrated in Tadika St. Faith to impart multiracial spirit within the young children at their early age. For instance, Chinese New Year Celebration, birthday celebration and Year End Graduation celebration and sportsmanship in Sports Day.
Good parents and teachers relationship is maintained through daily communication and also through our annual events such as Family Fun Day where the children, parents and tadika's teachers were having fun interacting with each other through games and telematch. PTM or of formal Parents and Teachers meeting is our annual event where teachers get together with the children's parents to discuss the children's progress and on how to improve any of the children's weaknesses.
It is our privilege that we are able to give back to the community through our Tadika St. Faith's annual event Community Service Event. As part of a christian missionary kindergarten, we support the community by raising fun for the Autism Association and also to serve the rural area community through the words of the Lord by having fun with them through bible camps.
The students are exposed to variety life experiences as they have involved in the kindergarten annual educational field tri p event. This experience enable them to learn by exploring with their their environment during the field trip instead learnt through the textbook only. It enables the students to have better understanding of the subject learnt when they are able to explore interactively during lesson time instead of passive learning experience.
