Privacy at a glance
Tab Zoo is a local pixel-animal zoo for Chrome. It has no account, backend server, advertising, analytics, or remote code. Tab Zoo does not sell, share, or transmit user data to the developer or third parties.
Data handled
Tab Zoo does not read browsing data until the user turns on local tracking and grants Chrome's optional tabs permission. When tracking is enabled, the extension temporarily handles the URL and title of the active HTTP or HTTPS page in the focused, non-incognito Chrome window. This information is used in memory to classify the site into a broad animal category and to count a broader website once during the current reset period.
Tab Zoo skips incognito windows, local and internal browser addresses, excluded domains, and common email, banking, medical, login, and payment pages. Users can add other domains to the exclusion list.
Website animal visits
The optional website-visit animation is off by default. If the user separately enables it, Chrome requests the scripting permission and access to regular HTTP and HTTPS pages. Tab Zoo then injects a small local animal animation into the lower-right corner of the active page for approximately four seconds after a valid classification. The injected script does not read page text, forms, passwords, cookies, account information, or other page content.
Purpose
Browsing information is handled only to provide Tab Zoo's user-facing features: classifying the active site, updating the matching animal's count and color progress, preventing repeated counts for the same broader site during a reset period, and optionally displaying the matching animal on the active page.
Local storage
Tab Zoo stores animal counts, color progress, the last animal encountered, reset preferences, the next reset time, excluded domains, a random salt, and salted site-deduplication markers in chrome.storage.local in the current Chrome profile. The markers are one-way identifiers derived from broader website domains and are cleared when the zoo resets. Tab Zoo does not persist full URLs, page titles, search queries, page content, or a readable browsing-history list.
Sharing and retention
Tab Zoo does not send browsing information or locally stored zoo data to the developer or any third party. Data remains in the current Chrome profile. By default, the zoo resets every Monday at 8:00 a.m.; users can choose a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule or reset it manually. Old date-based counts are retained for no more than approximately 70 days when applicable.
User controls
Users can turn local tracking on or off, independently enable or disable website animal visits, exclude domains, choose a reset schedule, and clear the zoo at any time. Turning tracking off revokes the optional tabs permission. Turning website animal visits off revokes the optional scripting and website-access permissions. Uninstalling the extension removes its locally stored data according to Chrome's extension-storage behavior.
Limited Use
Tab Zoo's use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. User data is used only to provide Tab Zoo's disclosed, user-facing features. It is not used for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or unrelated purposes, and it is not sold or transferred to third parties outside approved use cases.
Changes and contact
If Tab Zoo later adds cloud sync, analytics, advertising, accounts, or other data practices, this policy and the in-product disclosure will be updated before those practices begin.

处理的数据
在用户主动开启本地记录并授予 Chrome 可选的 tabs 权限之前，Tab Zoo 不读取浏览数据。开启后，扩展会在内存中临时处理当前聚焦的非无痕 Chrome 窗口中活动 HTTP 或 HTTPS 页面的 URL 和标题，用于把网站归入一个宽泛的动物类别，并在当前重置周期内按主网站去重计数。
Tab Zoo 会跳过无痕窗口、本地和浏览器内部地址、用户排除的域名，以及常见的邮箱、银行、医疗、登录和付款页面。用户还可以主动添加其他排除域名。
网页动物来访
网页右下角的动物动画默认关闭。用户另行开启后，Chrome 会请求 scripting 权限以及对普通 HTTP 和 HTTPS 页面的访问权限。有效分类完成后，Tab Zoo 会在当前活动网页右下角插入一个本地动物动画，约四秒后移除。注入的脚本不会读取网页正文、表单、密码、Cookie、账户信息或其他页面内容。
用途
浏览信息只用于 Tab Zoo 明确展示给用户的功能：给当前网站分类、更新相应动物的计数和颜色进度、避免同一主网站在一个重置周期内重复计数，以及在用户开启该功能时显示相应动物。
本地存储
Tab Zoo 使用当前 Chrome 配置文件中的 chrome.storage.local 保存动物计数、颜色进度、最近遇见的动物、重置设置、下次重置时间、排除域名、随机盐值以及加盐的网站去重标记。去重标记是由主网站域名单向生成的标识，并会在动物园重置时删除。Tab Zoo 不持久保存完整 URL、页面标题、搜索词、网页内容或可读的浏览历史列表。
共享与保留
Tab Zoo 不会向开发者或任何第三方发送浏览信息或本地保存的动物园数据。数据保留在当前 Chrome 配置文件中。动物园默认在每周一上午 8:00 重置；用户也可以选择每天、每周或每月重置，或随时手动清零。在适用情况下，按日期保存的旧计数最长保留约 70 天。
用户控制
用户可以随时开启或关闭本地记录，独立开启或关闭网页动物来访，添加排除域名，选择重置周期并清空动物园。关闭本地记录会撤销可选的 tabs 权限；关闭网页动物来访会撤销可选的 scripting 和网站访问权限。卸载扩展后，Chrome 会按照扩展存储机制删除相关本地数据。
有限使用
Tab Zoo 对通过 Chrome API 获得的信息的使用遵守 Chrome Web Store 用户数据政策，包括有限使用要求。用户数据只用于 Tab Zoo 已披露并直接面向用户的功能，不用于广告、信用评估、贷款或其他无关用途，也不会在批准的使用情形之外出售或转移给第三方。
