Tabsfly ("the extension") is a Chrome side panel extension that helps users organize their browser tabs and links into workspaces. This policy explains what data the extension handles, how it's stored, and who it's shared with.
Summary: Tabsfly does not have a server. There is no account, no sign-in, and no data is ever transmitted off your device. Everything described below is stored locally in your own browser.
What data Tabsfly handles
All data below is stored using Chrome's built-in storage API, entirely on your device:
Workspaces you create — name, icon, color, and shape you choose.
Saved links — title, URL, and the group/workspace you file them under.
Web history (recently closed tabs) — Tabsfly reads your last 5 closed tabs (URL, title) through Chrome's sessions API so you can reopen them from the panel, with their back/forward navigation history intact.
Favorites — up to 7 pinned links.
Quick Launch — up to 10 saved addresses you open together.
Notes — a short free-text note per workspace, written by you.
Settings — your language, theme, and interface preferences.
A temporary, session-only list of which open tabs the extension itself launched — cleared automatically when you close your browser; used only to show accurate open/closed status.
What Tabsfly does NOT collect
Tabsfly does not collect or access: your name, email, or any personally identifying information; health data; financial or payment data; passwords or authentication credentials; personal messages; your location; the content of the web pages you visit (text, images, video); or any tracking of your clicks, keystrokes, or mouse activity.
How site icons are shown
To display a small icon next to your saved links, Tabsfly reads it from Chrome's own local favicon cache (using the favicon permission). No request is sent to any external server to fetch icons.
Who Tabsfly shares data with
No one. Tabsfly does not use analytics, does not display ads, does not have a backend server, and does not transmit any of the data listed above to any third party. Nothing leaves your browser.
Data retention and deletion
All data is deleted automatically if the extension is uninstalled, or individual items (links, workspaces, favorites, etc.) can be removed at any time from within the panel itself.
Permissions Tabsfly requests and why
sidePanel — to display the extension's interface in Chrome's side panel.
storage — to save workspaces, links, favorites, and settings on-device.
tabs — to list open tabs, open/close/focus tabs from the panel, and detect duplicates.
sessions — to power the "Recently Closed" feature.
favicon — to show site icons from Chrome's local cache without contacting any external server.
Children's privacy
Tabsfly is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Continued use of the extension after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
