This Privacy Policy explains how TabNest ("TabNest", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, protects, and shares information when you use the TabNest Chrome extension, website, and related services.
We are committed to handling user information transparently and using only the information necessary to provide and maintain TabNest.
Depending on how you use TabNest, we may process the following categories of information.
To provide TabNest's core functionality, the extension may access browser information necessary to organize and manage your tabs and tab groups.
This may include:
tab identifiers;
tab titles;
tab URLs;
tab group information;
window and tab-group state;
information necessary to save or restore tab organization.
This information is processed to provide the user-facing tab-management features of TabNest.
TabNest does not sell browsing activity.
We do not use browsing information for personalized advertising.
TabNest may generate or maintain a unique identifier associated with an installation or user account.
Where an identifier is required by our backend, we may use a cryptographically generated or hashed identifier to associate a device or installation with subscription entitlement and service state.
When you purchase a TabNest subscription, payment processing is handled by Paddle, our Merchant of Record and payment service provider.
Paddle may process information required to complete and administer your purchase, such as:
name;
email address;
billing information;
payment information;
transaction identifiers;
subscription identifiers;
tax information where applicable;
purchase and subscription status.
TabNest does not receive or store your full payment-card number.
Payment information is handled by Paddle according to Paddle's applicable privacy and payment terms.
Our infrastructure may process limited technical information necessary to operate and secure the Service, such as:
extension or installation identifiers;
subscription identifiers;
authentication or entitlement information;
request timestamps;
security and fraud-prevention information;
basic server logs necessary for reliability and security.
We use information only for legitimate purposes connected to TabNest, including:
providing tab and tab-group organization features;
saving or restoring user-selected tab organization where supported;
determining whether a user has access to free or premium functionality;
managing subscriptions and subscription entitlements;
processing payment-related events received from Paddle;
securing the Service;
preventing fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access;
maintaining reliability and performance;
responding to support requests;
complying with applicable legal obligations.
TabNest may process browser tab information because browser-tab organization is a core function of the extension.
We do not sell browsing history or browsing activity.
We do not use browser-tab information for targeted or personalized advertising.
We do not use browser-tab information for credit scoring, lending decisions, insurance decisions, or unrelated profiling.
We limit access to browser information to what is reasonably necessary to provide TabNest's disclosed functionality.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
We may share or transmit limited information to service providers only when reasonably necessary to operate TabNest.
These providers may include:
Paddle processes purchases, subscriptions, payments, invoices, applicable taxes, and related transaction administration as Merchant of Record.
Cloudflare may provide hosting, networking, security, and server infrastructure for TabNest's website and backend services.
TabNest is distributed through Google Chrome and the Chrome Web Store. Google independently processes information according to Google's applicable policies and terms.
We do not provide Google with additional user information except where necessary for the operation of TabNest or required by applicable law or platform functionality.
TabNest's use of information received through Chrome APIs is limited to providing and improving the extension's disclosed user-facing functionality, maintaining security, preventing abuse, and operating the Service.
We do not sell user data.
We do not use user data for personalized advertising.
We do not transfer user data to data brokers or information resellers.
We do not use user data for unrelated purposes.
The use of information received from Google Chrome APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Where TabNest needs to associate an installation or service identifier with backend records, identifiers may be transformed using cryptographic hashing such as SHA-256 before being stored or transmitted for identification purposes.
Hashing is used as a security and identifier-protection measure. However, hashing alone does not guarantee complete anonymity or security.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain subscription and financial records, protect the Service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or comply with legal obligations.
When information is no longer reasonably required, we seek to delete, aggregate, anonymize, or otherwise securely dispose of it where appropriate.
Certain transaction, accounting, tax, or legal records may need to be retained for longer periods by Paddle or us where required by applicable law.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including rights to:
request access to certain information;
request correction of inaccurate information;
request deletion where legally applicable;
object to or restrict certain processing;
request information about how your data is processed.
Some requests may be subject to legal or operational limitations.
