Tab Memory ("we," "our," or "the extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Tab Memory collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our Chrome extension.
Tab Memory collects and stores the following information locally on your device only:
Tab URLs: The web addresses of tabs where you choose to save notes
Page Titles: The titles of web pages where you add notes
User Notes: The text content you write to describe why you opened a tab
Timestamps: The date and time when you create or edit notes
Timer Settings: Your timer preferences and active timer data
User Preferences: Your settings such as theme preference (dark/light mode), default timer duration, and notification preferences
Tab Count: The number of tabs currently open in your browser (displayed for informational purposes only)
Trial Start Date: The date you first installed the extension (used to calculate your 14-day free trial period)
License Key: If you purchase a license, your license key is stored locally
Tab Memory uses the collected information solely for the following purposes:
Core Functionality: To display your saved tab notes and help you remember why you opened specific tabs
Timer Reminders: To create and manage timer notifications for tabs
Statistics: To show you how many notes you've created
Preferences: To remember your chosen settings (theme, timer defaults, etc.)
License Validation: To verify your premium license status
All your data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local).
Your notes, preferences, and timer data never leave your device except during license validation (see below)
We do not have access to your data
We do not store your data on external servers
We do not create backups of your data on our servers
When you activate a premium license:
The extension sends only your license key to our validation system (a Google Sheets document)
No personal information, browsing history, or tab notes are transmitted
The validation system checks if your license key is valid and active
This check occurs:
When you first enter a license key
Once every 24 hours while the extension is in use
When you manually click "Validate License"
Tab Memory uses the following third-party services:
Purpose: License key validation only
Data Shared: Your license key only (no personal data or browsing history)
Privacy Policy: Google Privacy Policy
Purpose: Payment processing (handled entirely on their platform)
Data Shared: Payment information you provide directly to Dodo Payments
Note: We never receive or store your payment information

We do not:
Sell your data to third parties
Share your data with advertisers
Transfer your data to data brokers
Use your data for marketing purposes
Track your browsing activity across websites
Your data remains private and local to your device.
Your data is retained:
While the extension is installed: All notes and settings remain until you manually delete them or uninstall the extension
After uninstallation: Chrome automatically removes all extension data when you uninstall Tab Memory
You have complete control over your data:
Access all your saved notes through the "View All Notes" page in the extension.
Edit any saved note directly from the "View All Notes" page.
Individual Notes: Delete specific notes using the delete button
All Data: Use the "Clear All Data" button in Settings to permanently remove all your notes, timers, and preferences
Complete Removal: Uninstall the extension to remove all data
Export all your notes as a JSON file from the Settings page. You can save this file as a backup or transfer it to another device.
Disable timer notifications in the Settings page or through Chrome's notification settings.
Tab Memory is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us, and we will delete such information.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information:
All data is stored using Chrome's secure storage API
License validation uses HTTPS encryption
No sensitive data is transmitted over the network except encrypted license keys
The extension follows Chrome's security best practices and Manifest V3 requirements
However, please note that no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do:
We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
Significant changes will be communicated through the extension update notes
Continued use of Tab Memory after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
Tab Memory is available globally. If you use Tab Memory from outside your country of residence, please be aware that your information is stored locally on your device regardless of where you are located.
