Using TabletTick
TabletTick is designed to make keeping track of your medication routine simple. This guide explains how to add your medications, set reminders, record when you take them and review your recent history.
TabletTick helps you keep track of your medication routine by showing what you need to take each day and reminding you when it's time.
When you first open TabletTick, you'll be asked whether you'd like to enable notifications. Allowing notifications means TabletTick can remind you when a medication is due.
Once you're set up, the Today screen is your main view. It shows the medications scheduled for today and lets you record each dose as Taken or Skipped.
Open the Medications tab and tap Add medication.
Enter the details of your medication, including its name, dose and unit. You can also enter the quantity you take each time and, if needed, any additional instructions.
Choose a Start date for the medication. You can also add an End date if you only need to take it for a limited period.
When you're finished, tap Save medication.
TabletTick will confirm that your medication has been saved.
Each medication can have one or more schedules.
Choose Every day if you take the medication daily, or Specific days if you only take it on certain days of the week.
Add the time you normally take the medication. You can add multiple times if you take the same medication more than once a day.
For example, a medication taken twice daily could be scheduled for:
08:00
20:00
You can add additional schedules when you need more flexibility.
If notifications are enabled, TabletTick will send a reminder when a medication is due.
Your reminder can include the medication name, dose, quantity and any instructions you've entered.
You can record the dose from TabletTick as Taken or Skipped.
Tapping the notification itself will take you to the relevant dose in TabletTick.
Important: Notifications should support your medication routine, but you should not rely on TabletTick as your only method of remembering essential medication.
TabletTick records each scheduled dose using one of three statuses:
Taken — you recorded that you took the medication.
Skipped — you deliberately chose not to take that dose.
Missed — no action was recorded within two hours of the scheduled time.
This gives you a simple record of your recent medication routine.
The Today screen shows the medication doses scheduled for the current day.
Use Taken or Skipped to record what happened with each dose.
Once all of today's displayed doses have been recorded as Taken, TabletTick will show:
✓ All done for today!
Tomorrow's schedule will appear automatically when the day changes.
Open the History tab to review your recent medication activity.
The calendar gives you a quick visual indication of how each day went, while the history details show individual doses and whether they were Taken, Skipped or Missed.
TabletTick keeps 31 days of medication history on your device.
Deleting a medication does not immediately remove its recent completed history, so you can still see what happened during the retained history period.
Open Medications and select the medication you want to change.
You can edit its details, schedule, dates or reminder times and then save your changes.
To remove it, choose Delete medication and confirm the deletion.
TabletTick removes future schedules and reminders for the medication while retaining applicable recent completed history.
You can check TabletTick's notification permission under Settings.
Enabled ✓ means TabletTick currently has permission to send notifications.
If the status shows Disabled, tap Open iOS Settings and enable notifications for TabletTick.
When you return to TabletTick, the notification status will update automatically.
iOS limits the number of future local notifications that apps can have scheduled at one time.
TabletTick manages this automatically and prioritises your upcoming medication reminders. If all of your future reminders cannot currently be scheduled, TabletTick will display a message in Settings.
If you see this message, open TabletTick regularly. The app will refresh your upcoming reminders when it is opened.
TabletTick is designed to work without creating an account.
Your TabletTick medication information and history are stored locally on your device. TabletTick does not require you to upload your medication information to a TabletTick account or online service.
Remember that medication information contained in notifications may be visible on your iPhone's Lock Screen depending on your iOS notification settings.
