About me
Born in Preston, UK, my affinity for music, particularly rhythm, manifested at a very young age. The allure of beats would instinctively set my fingers in motion, and my feet tapping in sync.
This early fascination paved the way for my exploration of the tabla, an instrument I frequently observed my grandad playing. As soon as I reached an age where I could actively pursue my interests, I eagerly convinced him to impart the foundational lessons of tabla playing.
Simultaneously, my penchant for percussion led me to improvise with makeshift drums, often using my mom's pans and anything drum-like within reach. Prior to receiving my first pair of tablas at around the age of 11, I honed what I believed to be tabla techniques on tabletops and plastic containers.
Since then, my journey with the tabla has been a constant companion throughout my life. I've had the privilege of playing alongside renowned artists, sharing my knowledge by teaching tabla to individuals of diverse ages and backgrounds.
This website serves as a culmination of my experiences, encapsulating the methods and approaches that have shaped my tabla learning journey. It is my sincere hope that you derive joy and valuable insights from exploring and learning on this site.
