Hi, I'm Tabitha Koch, a PhD student in the Department of Political Science at Rice University. My field of study is American politics, with a particular focus on women in politics, representation, and Congress.
In my current research, I investigate constituents' expectations of women politicians and explore how those expectations shape women's representational styles in Congress. I am also working on several coauthored projects that explore how politician gender influences public tolerance for violent threats as well as their approval of legislators' responses to threats.
Before coming to Rice, I completed my B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
