From Hobbyist to Expert Tutor
My own sewing journey began 16 years ago with a simple desire—to make my own clothes and find a creative community. What started as an attempt to quickly tailor my wardrobe quickly blossomed into a profound connection with the craft and an amazing, supportive network. That feeling of creating alongside fellow enthusiasts is the core of what Tabbey Bobbin is all about. I'm eager to build a vibrant, thriving community right here in the city, a place where people can connect, collaborate, and share a sense of belonging.
With over 16 years of immersion in the world of sewing, I've transformed my skills from a hobbyist to an experienced maker. Because I am primarily self-taught, I deeply understand the challenges, frustrations, and the huge triumphs of learning from the ground up. I've been in your shoes! That's why I've structured every workshop to make your learning curve smooth, fun, and empowering, ensuring you move into confident creation with ease.
The name is inspired by my beloved cat, Princess! As a tabby, she was my lovely "little assistant," but not the most helpful at times. Often, Princess liked to welcome one-to-one clients in my home studio. While she's enjoying retirement from studio life and sadly won't be at the new location, she is the official face of Tabbey Bobbin and our central star, along with our learners on social media.
