LOCAL APP DATA
Imported Guitar Pro, MIDI, MusicXML/MXL, and supported PDF files are processed and stored in the app's private storage on the device. Library data, playback position, loops, tunings, favorites, and settings also remain in local app storage. Tab2Fret does not automatically upload music files or practice activity.
MICROPHONE TUNER
The optional tuner requests microphone permission only when the user opens it. Audio is analyzed in memory on the device to estimate pitch, is not saved as a recording, and is not sent to the developer. The microphone is released when the tuner closes or the app leaves the foreground. Users may deny or revoke microphone permission and continue using the rest of the app.
ACCOUNTS, ADVERTISING, AND ANALYTICS
Tab2Fret does not require or offer an account. It contains no advertising, analytics, or developer-operated tracking or telemetry service. The developer does not operate a server that receives imported files or practice activity.
NETWORK AND GOOGLE PLAY SERVICES
Core imports and playback work offline. The app includes Google Play Billing for an optional tip jar and Google Play's in-app review flow.
If a user completes the optional in-app review flow, Google Play receives the star rating and any review text the user enters. Google Play uses that information to publish or privately deliver the review according to the app's release track. Users can delete reviews through their Google Play Store account or Google Account.
For an optional tip purchase, Tab2Fret receives purchase status and a purchase token from Google Play and returns the token to Google Play for consumption and acknowledgement. Google Play processes the purchase under its terms and privacy policy. Tab2Fret does not receive or store payment-card details.
If a user explicitly opens an external page or confirms a supported HTTPS file download, that request is sent to the selected third-party service. The third party handles the request under its own privacy policy. Tab2Fret does not automatically browse, upload files, or send practice activity.
PERMISSIONS
• Microphone: optional, used only by the on-device tuner while it is open.
• Internet: supports Google Play services and user-initiated external access described above.
• Wake lock: keeps playback active when needed.
• File access: selected through Android's system file picker or compatible open-with flow; the app does not request storage-wide access.
Tab2Fret does not request location or contacts permission.
DATA DELETION
Users control app data on their device. Delete individual songs in the app, clear Tab2Fret's storage in Android Settings, or uninstall the app to remove local data. The developer has no server-side Tab2Fret account or music-file store to delete.
CHILDREN
Tab2Fret is intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. The developer does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
Material changes will be posted at this public address with an updated effective date.
