Tab Volume Mixer Privacy Policy
Tab Volume Mixer Privacy Policy
Tab Volume Mixer is designed for one purpose: control audio volume per browser tab from a single mixer interface.
The extension captures tab audio locally using Chrome's tabCapture API and replays it through an offscreen document with independent gain, EQ, and output routing. Audio data never leaves the user's device.
Depending on the features used, Tab Volume Mixer may process:
Audio stream from browser tabs, captured locally via Chrome's tabCapture API and processed through Web Audio nodes. Audio data stays on the device and is not transmitted anywhere.
Extension settings and user preferences, including per-tab volume, EQ, and output device selection stored in browser local storage.
A locally generated or anonymous user identifier (for Pro features).
License, Pro, or billing status metadata.
Data is used only to:
Provide the extension's stated single-purpose workflow: per-tab volume control, EQ adjustment, and output device routing.
Save per-tab audio preferences so settings are remembered when the options page reopens.
Verify license or Pro status (when Pro features are implemented).
Complete user-requested settings, account, or checkout actions.
The extension uses browser local storage (chrome.storage.local) to save per-tab audio preferences. Storage keys follow the pattern tabVolumeMixer:tab:${tabId} and are automatically cleaned up when tabs are closed.
Users can remove local extension data by uninstalling the extension or clearing extension/site data in the browser.
Tab Volume Mixer may contact product services for license or Pro status verification, account/settings flows, checkout flows, or product features that explicitly require a service request.
All audio processing happens entirely on the user's device. No audio data is ever sent to any server.
Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy or the configured payment provider. Tab Volume Mixer does not store full credit card numbers.
The product may receive limited payment metadata, such as license status, checkout status, product tier, or transaction status, to enable paid features.
Tab Volume Mixer does not sell user data.
Audio data is never transmitted outside the user's browser. The extension captures tab audio locally and routes it through Web Audio nodes — no audio leaves the device.
Data may be shared only with service providers needed to operate the product, such as hosting, billing, license verification, or user-requested integrations.
Local extension data remains in the browser until the user clears it or removes the extension. Per-tab audio preferences are automatically cleaned up when tabs are closed.
Server-side data, if any, is retained only as long as needed to provide the product, maintain billing/license records, comply with legal obligations, or resolve support requests.
Users can disable or remove the extension, clear extension storage, revoke site permissions in browser settings, or contact support for privacy questions.
