This Privacy Policy describes how NexRunner Works (“the Extension,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you install and use the Extension in Google Chrome or a compatible Chromium browser.
By installing or using the Extension, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the Extension.
NexRunner Works is a browser extension that helps speed up browsing by suspending idle tabs, blocking ads and trackers locally, and applying optional page-performance helpers. There is no user account and no product website required to use the Extension.

Topic
Our practice
Data collection by our servers
We do not operate a backend that receives your browsing history, page content, or personal profile.
Where settings live
Feature levels, whitelist, theme, quiet-hours, and local metrics stay in your browser via Chrome storage APIs.
Sale of data
We do not sell your personal information.
Remote code
The Extension does not download or execute remote code. Packaged scripts and Declarative Net Request rules ship with the Extension.
Ads / tracking for us
We do not run our own analytics SDK, advertising ID collection, or cross-site tracking of you.
The Extension stores configuration and operational state locally using Chrome’s storage APIs (primarily chrome.storage.local, plus limited session state). Examples include:
Feature on/off and intensity levels (tab suspension, ad/tracker blocking, script control, cosmetic cleanup, prefetch helpers, video ad helpers, and related options)
Domain whitelist entries you create (domains and which features they bypass)
Theme and UI preferences
Quiet-hours / pause-related settings
Local metrics counters used to show estimates in the popup (for example pages processed or estimated savings). These metrics are computed and kept on your device; they are not uploaded to us
Temporary session state needed for Safe Mode / recovery hints and badge display
You may export or import a local JSON backup of settings and whitelist from the Options page. That file stays under your control unless you choose to share it.
To provide core features, the Extension must interact with tabs and page contexts in Chrome. That may include:
Tab URLs, titles, and discard/suspend eligibility (to find idle tabs and respect the whitelist)
Network request patterns matching local blocklists shipped with the Extension (Declarative Net Request)
Injection of bundled content scripts or helpers on pages you visit (for example smart recovery, cosmetic cleanup, DNS prefetch helpers, YouTube/Twitch ad-skip bridges when those features are enabled)
This processing happens inside your browser for the Extension’s single purpose. We do not receive a feed of your browsing history on our servers.
We do not require or intentionally collect:
Name, postal address, phone number, or government ID
Payment or financial account data
Precise geolocation
Authentication credentials for third-party sites
Contacts, photos, or microphone/camera input
Cross-device synced profiles operated by us (we do not run a cloud account for this Extension)
Local data is used solely to:
Suspend idle tabs and manage related keyboard commands / tools
Block ads, trackers, and related resources using local rules
Run optional performance and cleanup helpers you enable
Honor your whitelist, Safe Mode, and global pause controls
Display local metrics and UI state in the popup and Options pages
We do not use Extension data to determine creditworthiness or for lending decisions.
We do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the Extension’s core performance and blocking features, except as described below (partner extension messaging, install/uninstall pages, and legal requirements).
We do not sell your personal information or browsing data.
We do not transfer user data to third parties for advertising networks, data brokers, or unrelated product marketing based on your browsing inside this Extension.
If you also install a partner navigation extension that we authorize by extension ID, NexRunner Works may exchange short runtime messages on your device so the partner UI can:
Read a limited status snapshot (for example whether features are globally on, and whether the active tab’s domain is whitelisted)
Toggle whitelist for a domain, suspend inactive tabs, or pause/resume the Extension
Those messages stay between extensions installed in your browser. They are not a server upload by NexRunner Works. Unknown extensions are rejected.
On first install, the Extension may open https://addonup.com/extensions in a new tab. On uninstall, Chrome may open the same URL (set via chrome.runtime.setUninstallURL). That page is operated outside the Extension package; any information you voluntarily submit there (for example feedback) is governed by that site’s own practices. The Extension does not attach your browsing history to that navigation.
Google and the Chrome Web Store may process install, update, and policy-compliance related data under their own terms. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users’ rights and safety, to the limited extent we actually hold such information (typically support email correspondence only).
Remote code is not used.
Extension pages follow a Content Security Policy that allows scripts only from 'self'
Feature logic, content scripts, and Declarative Net Request rule sets are packaged with the Extension
The Extension does not fetch and execute executable code from the network
Updates are delivered through the Chrome Web Store (or your enterprise update channel), not by loading remote scripts at runtime.
The Extension requests only what it needs for its single purpose:
Permission
Purpose
storage
Save settings, whitelist, theme, and local metrics on your device
tabs
Detect idle tabs, suspend/resume, update icon/badge state
alarms
Schedule periodic idle-tab checks and timed resume-from-pause
declarativeNetRequest
Apply local ad/tracker/script blocklists without proxying traffic through our servers
scripting
Inject bundled helpers (cleanup, prefetch, recovery, video ad bridges) when features are on
Host access (<all_urls>)
Run blocking and page helpers on sites you visit; content scripts match broadly because idle tabs and ads appear across the web
Keyboard shortcuts are declared via Manifest commands and do not add a separate Chrome permission justifications field beyond the above capabilities.
Local Extension data remains until you clear site/extension data, reset settings, or uninstall the Extension
Uninstalling removes the Extension’s stored data from the browser profile (subject to Chrome’s normal uninstall behavior)
Email you send to support is retained only as long as needed to respond and for ordinary business records
We do not maintain a cloud copy of your whitelist or metrics that we can remotely wipe; deletion is performed on your device by you or by uninstall.
The Extension is a general-audience productivity tool. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information via support email, contact us and we will delete that correspondence where appropriate.
We design the Extension to keep sensitive state local and to avoid sending browsing data to our servers. No method of electronic storage is perfectly secure; protect your device and browser profile with normal OS and account security practices. Partner extension messaging is limited to allowlisted extension IDs.
Processing described here occurs primarily on your device. If you email support, that correspondence may be processed where our support mailbox is accessed. By using the Extension or contacting us, you understand that limited support communications may cross borders.
We may update this Privacy Policy when features or practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. Material changes may also be noted in the Extension changelog or store listing when appropriate.
