OVERVIEW
Tab Nap is a Google Chrome extension that suspends inactive tabs to reduce memory usage. The extension operates locally in the browser and does not use developer-operated servers.
DATA HANDLED BY THE EXTENSION
To provide its core feature, Tab Nap receives information about open tabs from Chrome: URL, title, favicon, active state, pinned state, audio state, and discarded state. It does not read page content, form entries, passwords, cookies, or network traffic.
HOW THE DATA IS USED
Tab information is used only to determine whether and when a tab may be suspended, display the sleep page, and restore the original URL. It is not used for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, or any unrelated purpose.
STORAGE AND SYNCHRONIZATION
• Settings and excluded domains are stored with chrome.storage.sync and may be synchronized by Google Chrome across the user's signed-in devices.
• Sleep-page restoration records, including the original tab URL and title, and aggregate local statistics are stored with chrome.storage.local on the user's device.
• Temporary tab-activity timestamps are stored with chrome.storage.session.
• Stale sleep-page records are automatically deleted after 30 days.
Users can remove local extension data by uninstalling the extension. Synchronized settings can be managed through the user's Chrome profile.
DATA SHARING
The developer does not receive, sell, or share user data with third parties. Tab Nap does not make network requests to developer-operated servers and includes no third-party analytics or advertising. If Chrome Sync is enabled by the user, settings are synchronized by Google under Google's terms and privacy policy.
LIMITED USE COMPLIANCE
Tab Nap's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide and improve the prominently disclosed tab-management feature. It is not transferred for personalized advertising, resale, surveillance, or human review.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If Tab Nap's data handling changes, this policy and the Chrome Web Store disclosures will be updated before the relevant version is published.
