Privacy Policy for Syvro
Last updated: October 3, 2026
Syvro is built to keep your financial information private by design, not by policy alone. This page explains exactly what that means.
The short version
Syvro does not collect, sell, or share your data. It stays on your device unless you tell it to move.
Everything you enter (bills, balances, spending amounts, categories) is stored locally on your phone or tablet, encrypted at rest. Syvro has no servers, no account system, no analytics, and no third-party tracking. The only ways your data leaves your phone are ones you start yourself: Family Sync to a phone you've paired, or an export file you choose to create. We could not see your financial data even if we wanted to.
What information Syvro stores
Syvro stores only what you manually type into the app:
Bill and expense names, amounts, due dates, and frequencies you enter
Account balance figures you enter
App preferences, such as your lock timeout and payday frequency settings
Syvro does not connect to any bank or financial institution, and never will. There is no account linking, no bank credential entry, and no automatic transaction import in this app. Optional purchases are handled by Google Play (see below), not by Syvro.
Where your information is stored
All data is stored locally on your device using Android's encrypted storage (EncryptedSharedPreferences / DataStore). It is not uploaded to any cloud service, backend server, or third party. Syvro is also configured to exclude its data from Android's automatic device backup system, so your financial information does not leave your device even through routine phone backups.
App lock: PIN and biometrics
If you enable app lock, Syvro uses your device's built-in biometric system (fingerprint or face recognition) via Android's standard BiometricPrompt. Syvro never sees, stores, or has access to your biometric data itself — that is handled entirely by your device's operating system and secure hardware, the same way it is for unlocking your phone.
If you set a PIN, it is stored on your device only as a one-way hash, not as the PIN itself. We cannot see your PIN, and it never leaves your device.
Family Sync and export files (optional)
Family Sync is an optional one-time purchase that keeps Syvro in sync between exactly two phones. If you use it:
The two phones are paired with a PIN you confirm on both devices. Syvro only syncs with the phone you paired.
Your data is encrypted and travels directly from one phone to the other over Wi-Fi / Android's Nearby Connections. It does not pass through any Syvro server, because there isn't one.
Android may ask you to allow the permissions needed to find and connect to your other phone (such as Nearby devices). They are used only for pairing and syncing.
You can also export your data to a .syvrosync file and import it on another phone. Syvro only creates this file when you ask it to, and you choose where it goes. The file is encrypted.
Purchases (Tip Jar, Plus, Family Sync)
All purchases are optional and processed by Google Play. Syvro never sees or stores your payment details. Google Play tells the app whether a purchase went through so it can unlock what you bought; Google's handling of that transaction is covered by Google's own privacy policy. Tip Jar tips are one-time and unlock nothing.
Data sharing and third parties
Syvro does not share, sell, rent, or transmit your data to anyone, for any reason — including advertisers, analytics providers, or any other third party. Syvro contains no advertising SDKs and no analytics SDKs. The app only uses the network for Google Play purchases and, if you use it, Family Sync between your own two phones.
Your control over your data
Because everything is stored only on your device, you are always in full control:
Deleting a bill or expense in the app permanently removes it from your device
Uninstalling Syvro permanently deletes all of your data from that phone, since nothing is backed up elsewhere
If you've synced with a second phone or saved an export file, those copies stay where they are until you delete them there
There is no account to delete and no copy of your data held by us to request removal of, because we never receive it
Children's privacy
Syvro is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and given the app requires no account creation and sends no data to us, no such collection occurs.
Future features
Any future feature that would change how your data is handled will only be introduced with a clearly updated privacy policy explaining exactly what changes, and will never be enabled without being disclosed here first.
Financial disclaimer
Syvro is an informational budgeting tool. It does not provide financial, legal, tax, or investment advice. The amounts it shows are based only on what you enter.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change accordingly. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
