Stephanie's Ponytail Cast & Crew

The entire cast of this story are in the 9th -12th grade, and are a part of the Spartanburg Youth Theatre’s Junior Advisory Board, or JAB. JAB helps the youth have a voice at SYT by giving valuable feedback. JAB also provides volunteer services for the theatre throughout the season. Most of these actors have been on the SYT stage in previous productions. Check out their bios below!

Ellie Calvert (Student) is a freshman at Spartanburg Christian Academy. She has been involved in theatre since her first production in 3rd grade as Sally in A Charlie Brown Christmas. Other featured roles include Garland in Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse, and the Sheep in Charlotte’s Web. She is excited to be able to act with her fellow cast and crew in this fun new experience. She would like to thank Mr. Adam for this opportunity, her family for all of their support, and God for His constant guidance.

Maddox Cox (Student) has been in many productions at Spartanburg High School, Spartanburg Little Theatre and Spartanburg Youth Theatre. His favorite shows have been The King & I where he played Louis Leonowens and Disney’s Aladdin Jr. where he played Kassim. Maddox is in the 11th grade at Spartanburg High School and enjoys singing in the choir and playing music with his friends. He would love to thank his friends and family for always being there for him.

Madison Doggett (Stage Manager/Crew) has crewed for many productions for the Spartanburg Youth Theatre. This is her second year on the Junior Advisory Board. Her favorite shows she has crewed are Miss Nelson is Missing and Disney’s Aladdin Jr. Madison is a sophomore at South Carolina Connections Academy. Her favorite subjects are algebra, biology, and French. She would like to thank Adam for this opportunity, as well as her parents for all the support.

Sarah Kneisley (Student) has been in many SYT shows and is a member of SYT’s Junior Advisory Board. She loves doing all aspects of theatre but her favorite part is being backstage! Her favorite shows she has crewed are Miss Nelson is Missing and Seussical Jr. Sarah is in the 10th grade at Spartanburg High School. She loves snacks and wearing bald caps! She’d like to thank her personal Uber (her mom) and Adam for this opportunity!

Ava Stricklen (Mom/Teacher) has been with SYT for 2 years! She was the Grouchy Typing Lady in Junie B. Jones is Not a Crook and an ensemble member in How I Became a Pirate. Ava is a freshman at Spartanburg Day School and her favorite subjects are English and Spanish. She thanks her parents for their unconditional love and support, and Ellie for standing by her (even when her wig flew off).

Sydney Threatt (Stephanie) has been involved in many SYT productions, including playing Peppermint Patty in A Charlie Brown Christmas (2014). Sydney is a 10th grader at Boiling Springs High School. She is very excited to finally get to perform again!

Laney Voyles (Student) has been in many Youth Theatre productions with favorites including Prancer in Rudolph, Gertrude in Seussical Jr., and Sally in A Charlie Brown Christmas. Laney is an 11th grader at Spartanburg High School and her favorite subject is psychology. She would like to thank her parents and friends for always being so loving and supportive.
