Adaptive Action Labs

HSD offers an unique way of helping you work with complex, intractable challenges - through the facilitation of Adaptive Action Labs.

This is neither simply training or consulting as typically offered but a deeply engaging, pragmatic and action-based fusing of HSD theory, inquiry, learning and skills acquisition. Adaptive Action Labs are best experienced together in small or whole teams as you get to reflect, discover and work more adaptively with each other ensuring richer and more sustained application in your day to day working.

In an Adaptive Action Lab you bring your most challenging, wicked issues with you and as you learn, explore and develop skills together in the use of a number of core HSD models, thinking frames and action practices you get an extended opportunity to approach your challenges through a shared learning experience that offers novelty, rich discovery and practicality.

The labs combine spaces for inquiry, understanding and action so as to enable you and your team to develop a more coherent, adaptive and flexible approach to managing the wicked issues that most define your business challenges.

Over the course of 2 days I work with you to develop a Lab experience that provides new skills and approaches tailored to navigating complex issues - this enables us to combine elements of consulting work, learning and organisational development into a process that is fine tuned to the unique, individual needs of your organisation or team.

As an experienced HSD Professional I have worked to synthesis a number of key HSD models, concepts and practices into three inter-related dimensions that are crucial to developing the approach, mindset and core skills needed for tackling intractable challenges:

  • Approaching Systems Change (A HSD perspective on essential elements to attend to when working with complex-adaptive systems challenges)
  • Thinking Stance (The HSD mindset that primes you for working effectively in complex contexts)
  • Action Practice (HSD's approach to taking action and influencing change at all levels and scales of systems)

The core elements of this Adaptive Action Lab are designed to be engaging, experiential and deeply practical so as to ensure that you not only learn some great things but actually leave being able to do something immediate and useful too...

Transformational Coaching

My work as a coach is based on a set of simple yet profound principles:

- We have innate abilities and talents that are often latent until properly recognised

- Change is both an 'inside out' and 'outside in' process

- Becoming 'self and system' aware is a key factor in ensuring organisational success

- Our success, potential, self-worth and confidence arise from our capacity to be adaptive, flexible and able to respond with integrity and awareness

With these principles I focus on helping people live, work and love from a place of deep personal significance. I draw from my experience as a HSD Professional skilled in the use of HSD coaching approaches beginning our coaching journey with Radical Inquiry - a simple and profound exploration of what calls you to do your most meaningful work.

This sets the scene for the work we then do together around helping you evoke and then live from the set of core inter-dependent aspects that I call the 4Ps:
