Systems Biomedicine of Rabies

Rabies is a member of the Rhabdoviridae family that causes lethal encephalitis. The lethality mechanism, as well as related psychological symptoms, have still remained a mystery. The mechanistic view based on signaling networks would be expected to disclose events that occur in the late stage of rabies.

In this project, we undertake a systems biomedicine approach to identify the network of gene products implicated in rabies for predicting potential drug targets. This project is funded by Pasteur Institute of Iran (IPI-748, IPI-888 & IPI-928).
