“There Is A New Orchestra in Town:

Syracuse Chamber Orchestra”

There is a new orchestra in town called the Syracuse Chamber Orchestra. It has been newly-formed by local musicians who are professionals, para-professionals and music teachers who want to perform and make music together.  Its mission statement from its bylaws is:

“The mission of the Syracuse Chamber Orchestra (SCO) is to offer high quality concerts to the public by its members who are current professionals, para-professionals  and music teachers who are members of the greater Syracuse community.  The goal and purpose are to add to the musical and cultural enrichment of the community.”

Through a grant by the CNY Community Arts program, this new ensemble will be able to perform its inaugural concert on:
