If you want total light blockage and a dedicated silk sleep experience with 16 hours of playback, choose SYPVRY Soft Sleep Eye; if you need a versatile, washable Bluetooth headband for both workouts and sleep with the latest connectivity, choose Perytong 2.
• SYPVRY Soft Sleep Eye: Best strength is its premium silk design that creates complete darkness and superior comfort for side sleepers; biggest trade-off is it is not designed for active sports or machine washing while assembled. It is for the light sleeper who prioritizes total blackout and relaxation.
• Perytong 2: Best strength is its dual-purpose utility as a sweat-wicking sports band with ultra-thin speakers and touch controls; biggest trade-off is it lacks the heavy-duty light-blocking capability of a full mask. It is for the active user or remote worker who needs audio gear that transitions from the gym to the bedroom.
The SYPVRY Soft Sleep Eye is engineered specifically for one thing: creating an environment where you can drift off without distraction. The core of this device is its soft pressureless silk construction. Unlike standard fabric masks, the silk inner layer is designed to be incredibly gentle against the skin, helping you fall asleep quickly without the irritation often caused by rougher materials. This is not just about covering your eyes; it is about blocking out every single ray of light coming from the nose area. If you are someone whose sleep is ruined by even a sliver of streetlamp or morning sun, this mask effectively creates total darkness, which is critical for maintaining a deep sleep cycle.
For those working remotely or trying to maintain a strict sleep schedule in a busy household, the built-in Bluetooth 5.3 technology offers a discreet way to listen to white noise, audiobooks, or calming music. The speakers are adjustable and high-quality, ensuring you get clear stereo sound without needing bulky earbuds that might pop out when you toss and turn. The battery life is a standout feature here; with 16 hours of playback on a mere two-hour charge, you can easily go several days between charges. The automatic shut-off when the battery depletes means you never have to worry about waking up to a dead device or being interrupted by low-battery warnings.
However, this product has a specific niche. It is not a general-purpose audio accessory. While it includes a storage pocket and cable for portability during travel or yoga, it is primarily a sleep aid. You cannot wear it for intense physical activity because the design focuses on comfort during rest rather than sweat management. Furthermore, while the mask itself is washable, you must remove the Bluetooth module first. If you are looking for a piece of gear that doubles as a workout headphone or a primary listening device for your daily commute, this might feel too specialized for your needs. It is best suited for the person who values the ritual of sleep above all else.

The Perytong 2 takes a completely different approach by functioning as a hybrid wearable that bridges the gap between fitness gear and sleep aid. Its defining feature is the inclusion of ultra-thin 40mm composite drivers that are flat enough to sit comfortably against your ears regardless of whether you sleep on your left, right, or back. These speakers are seamlessly embedded into a headband made of breathable spandex and nylon, which absorbs sweat and keeps you cool. This makes it an ideal choice for anyone who uses headphones during the day and wants to transition them seamlessly into the night. If you are a runner, a cyclist, or someone who does yoga before bed, this headband handles the moisture and movement better than almost any other sleep-specific device.
Connectivity is another area where the Perytong 2 shines for modern users. It utilizes Bluetooth 5.4 technology, offering a rock-solid connection with a range of up to 43 feet. This is significantly more advanced than older standards, ensuring that your phone in your pocket or on your desk won't cause interference or dropouts while you are moving around the house or in the office. The touch controls are intuitive, allowing you to swipe or tap to adjust volume, skip tracks, or answer calls without fumbling for buttons. The built-in microphone makes it perfect for hands-free calling, which is a crucial feature for remote work environments where you might need to take a quick call from your bed or while stretching.
The versatility extends to maintenance as well. Because the speaker pods are removable, the entire headband can be tossed directly into the washing machine after a strenuous workout. This eliminates the hassle of spot-cleaning and ensures the gear stays hygienic and odor-free. With a battery life of 14 hours on a fast charge that takes only one to two hours, it supports everything from a morning run to an evening meditation session. However, if your primary goal is to block out light entirely, this headband might fall short compared to a full-face mask. It covers the ears but leaves the face exposed to ambient light. It is the perfect pick for the multitasker who needs audio gear that works hard across multiple scenarios.
• Best for Light Blockage → SYPVRY Soft Sleep Eye. Its silk design creates total darkness, making it superior for insomniacs who need a pitch-black environment to sleep.
• Best for Active Use → Perytong 2. The sweat-absorbent spandex and durable build make it safe for running, gym sessions, and outdoor activities.
• Best Connectivity → Perytong 2. Bluetooth 5.4 provides a wider range (43 feet) and more stable connection than the Bluetooth 5.3 found in the SYPVRY.
• Best Battery Longevity → SYPVRY Soft Sleep Eye. With 16 hours of playback per charge, it edges out the Perytong 2's 14-hour capacity.
• Best for Remote Work Calls → Perytong 2. The touch controls and sensitive microphone integration make handling calls easier during work-from-home setups.
• Best for Machine Washing → Perytong 2. You can throw the whole unit in the washer after removing the pods, whereas the SYPVRY requires careful disassembly and hand-washing care.
• Best Value for Versatility → Perytong 2. Getting two packs allows you to share or replace easily, and the device serves double duty as a sport headband and sleep aid.
• Best for Premium Comfort → SYPVRY Soft Sleep Eye. The silk material offers a softer, more luxurious feel against the skin compared to the synthetic blend of the Perytong.
In my opinion, the choice depends entirely on your daily rhythm. If your primary struggle is falling asleep due to light sensitivity and you need a dedicated tool to help you relax, the SYPVRY Soft Sleep Eye is the winner. Its silk construction and total blackout capability are unmatched for pure sleep quality. However, if you need a single device that can handle your morning runs, your afternoon focus sessions, and your nighttime wind-down, the Perytong 2 is the more practical investment. I would personally buy the Perytong 2 for my own remote work setup because the ability to answer calls via touch controls and use it for both exercise and sleep offers a level of convenience that justifies the slightly shorter battery life. It is the smarter, more flexible companion for a busy lifestyle.
While neither device is marketed explicitly as a "transparency mode" headset like open-ear earbuds, the Perytong 2's open-fit design allows some ambient sound to pass through naturally, making it easier to hear your surroundings compared to closed-back earbuds. The SYPVRY, being a full eye mask, blocks vision but the audio is internal, so you rely on the mic to hear others if you are taking a call.
The SYPVRY Soft Sleep Eye offers 16 hours of continuous playback on a two-hour charge, while the Perytong 2 provides 14 hours on a one-to-two-hour charge. Both are sufficient for overnight use, but the SYPVRY holds a slight edge for extended listening sessions without recharging.
Yes, but with conditions. The Perytong 2 features removable speakers, allowing the entire headband to be machine washed, which is essential for hygiene after intense exercise. The SYPVRY requires you to remove the Bluetooth module before washing, and it is generally recommended to hand-wash or spot-clean the silk gently to preserve the material.
