"Get-Package 'symantec endpoint protection' | uninstall-package" - This is my main command I've been working with. I have also tried the longer Broadcom provided string, but it also fails with the same. I just can't imagine what could be stopping this. There is nothing on the client or policy side that would do this. No password, no tamper protection, SMC services stopped...yet, it's still 1602?
I am running Norton 360 9.1.0 with Mac OS Big Sur 12.5.1 on an Intel Mac Mini (2018). Since MacOS 12.5 this Mac mini drags and hangs up repeatedly after waking up from sleep. Using Activity Monitor, I notice that process com.symantec.mes.systemextension is using anywhere from 50-140% CPU. I followed the Norton 360 web site instructions to completely uninstall Norton 360, including a command script to delete hard drive files. After restarting I reinstalled Norton 360 to its current 9.1.0 version. This didn't resolve the com.symantec.mes.systemextension process CPU usage.

In my dedicated index "Symantec" i can see events about symantec:ep:scan:file, which supposed to be normalized to "Malware" datamodel according to the docs docs.
I can also see the "malware" tag, as well as the "attack" tag.
For some reason, when i query the datamodel, i don't see any sign for symantec logs.
The Intrusion Detection datamodel for example, does has symantec logs . e24fc04721
